Happy Sunday! I hope you’re snuggling up with some peppermint tea on this chilly December day. Here’s what’s kept me curious and happy the past week…
My Spotify Wrapped Playlist for 2020. Sure, it’s embarrassing to see just how much you played certain songs before your relationship buckled under the stress of quarantine, but still! It’s as accurate a portrayal of the past year as any.
I rationed out one episode of Love & Anarchy a night for myself. If this Swedish show isn’t renewed, I will protest in Sweden when it’s safe to travel again. I got so caught up in it all!!!! The emotion radiated off the screen in the final scene, and I died a little on the inside when the credits rolled.
From a Norwegian show, to a Swedish show, I have now found myself helplessly hooked on a Danish political drama. I can’t explain how the slow burn of that first episode of Borgen seemed to seep into me and take control of my body. I can’t. stop. watching.
My favorite podcast of the week and maybe ever was Louise Penny on Forever35. She gave me so much hope in the world and in what I’m doing as a creative! That things can happen later in life and the timing is just perfect that way. I love, love, loved it and want to meet her for a steaming cup of cocoa in Québec to talk about it more.
Another podcast I enjoyed was Louis Theroux on Off Menu. I feel like I just bore witness to a week’s worth of banter that I’ve been missing in quarantine. Wonderfully silly.
Honorable mention to Code Switch’s Words of Advice, which really had me thinking as always.
Fair warning, after the first taste of this Dark Chocolate Cane Joe Joe’s Bar from Trader Joe’s, I just know I’m buying many many more next time.
xoxo,
Sally
