August is almost over? I don’t know which way’s up and which way’s down at this point. As long as we’re all keeping our heads above the water, right? I don’t know! Here’s what’s captured my fleeting attention the past week.
Surprise gifts are the best, are they not? My sister sent me the ceramic bowl above and I’m so in love. The colors and craftsmanship are so gorgeous, but I love that I can think of the night we spent in the Rose Island Lighthouse every time I look at it. And that it’s handmade right in Rhode Island. Michelle Phaneuf’s work is so beautiful!
My hope has been waning lately, so I’ve escaped back into West Wing and a government I can actually believe in. So comforting!
Colin Jost’s A Very Punchable Face is one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. From start to finish, I simply couldn’t stop laughing. Embarrassingly loud, crinkly eyed, spontaneous laughing. Good grief. I love him. This took me down such a fun rabbit trail as you’ll see. So glad I got off the waiting list for this and, honestly, I’m ready to put myself right back on it.
Just before getting off said waiting list, I heard Colin interviewed on Armchair Expert. Definitely going down as one of my favorite episodes.
How is it that a segment of SNL’s Weekend Update in late February still feels like it could’ve been made in late August? On a lighter note, I love when Colin Jost and Michael Che swap jokes on air as Christmas gifts.
Becky Simpson speaking truth about our 30s. Yep. What she said.
David Tennant Does a Podcast With… is back *confetti* and I quite enjoyed his interview with Stacey Abrams.
A white orca?! Looks like I need a trip back to Alaska. When this is all over, of course.
Happy Sunday, friends. Keep staying safe.
xoxo,
Sally
