What a blur, what a blur. Here’s what I remember:
A really interesting podcast a friend recommended to me was Citations Needed’s episode ‘The Pro-Gentrification Aspirationalism of HGTV’s House-Flipping Shows’ kinda blew my mind.
Like everyone else, I was shocked to hear about the death of Chadwick Boseman. This article on how he defied the odds and made dignity interesting is a good read.
I’m always telling my students that perfection is not the aim and that there is beauty in imperfection and creating with a free spirit. I discovered the picture book Ish by Peter H. Reynolds, which embraces this approach, and will be reading it to them on the first day to set the tone for the year.
Doing It Right’s interview with Alain de Botton really made me stop and think in the middle of my meal prep.
Speaking of meal prep, I have to get back in the swing of it with school starting. I’ve got a stack of salads in my fridge for the week ahead made with this Lemon Vinaigrette by Love and Lemons. I’ve got lemons coming out of my ears!
If you’re whipping up a little something in the kitchen, “Body And Soul” by Billie Holiday would make a great soundtrack. I’ll just try to forget what did or did not happen between Josh and Donna in the last episode of West Wing I just watched.
Oh me, oh me. The week ahead is a doozy. Let’s make it a good one, shall we?
xoxo,
Sally
