School is here and we’re exhausted. I limped through the week with the help of these things…
Judi Dench on David Tennant Does A Podcast With… She’s just brilliant. She’s just so blooming brilliant.
All week long I’ve Easy Tiger’s Kale Salad in my kitchen. I’m missing being at my local haunts so much and this is a tasty balm. Toss in some blueberries, brie, and avocado and I’m a happy girl.
You know that moment when you get off the library’s waiting list for something you’ve been waiting for a long long time? I love that moment. It happened this past week with Malcolm Gladwell’s Talking to Strangers and it was oh so worth the wait. And now I’m on the waiting list for everything else he’s ever written!
But being selectively bad at waiting, I then turned to Malcolm Gladwell’s podcast Revisionist History, which I’m absolutely loving. I started with the fascinating episode Dragon Psychology 101, all about art museums and their unseen archives. And it’s had me hook, line, and sinker ever since.
Mounting stress calls for the big guns in creature comforts. I’m powering through season 2 of All Creatures Great and Small. There’s nothing like James Herriot for that warm glowy, sitting by the fire with a steaming mug of cream tea and a dog at your feet kind of feeling to get you through the here-comes-anxiety nights.
Speaking of cream tea, my best friend sent me a box of my favorite British tea and I couldn’t be more delighted. Yorkshire Gold — the tastiest of armchair travel.
Well, my friends… well, my friends. That is all. Be well and be merry.
xoxo,
Sally
